A song about love peace and the ultimate world Utopia, relayed by a powerful and beautiful vocal of singer/actress Bette Midler. It’s hard to hear that kind of voice these days. No fancy enhances needed here, it gives me goosebumps every time I listen.
ah this song brings back a good old memory…
It was spring of 1991 I was in sixth grade, and the principal of the school I attended was retiring that year. So the whole school decided to throw him a nice farewell assembly where every class from k-6 would perform skits or songs in his honor. My class suggested rewriting the song “From a Distance,” a very popular song at the time, with the principal as the main subject, and we spent every day practicing and practicing, right up to the day of the assembly. Well as sixth grades we were dead last, and the whole class got up on stage and sang, and except for one small blunder near the end, it brought the whole auditorium to tears (well not everyone, but you know what I mean).
Sit back relax and enjoy the music.
The infamous Rorschach ink blot test. I never saw it used in such elaborate manner as I have here. Enjoy. 🙂
I think all of us who’s lived in this time can relate to this song, don’t you agree? :). Though I mostly grew up in the 90s, but it reads the same. It’s kinda sad, the world is constantly changing with time, and you tend to look back and realize how good you actually had it then (though you don’t notice at that time, you took everything for granted and assumed there won’t be a change coming.). Now I know that is a WRONG way to think, nothing lasts forever so you have to cherish every moment of it and grasp every opportunity that comes your way. Because time flies and so does the things of the world.
Have good night.
