The Radiance

This piece was inspired by a track from Linkin Park’s “A Thousand Suns” titled “the Radiance” in which it is a clip of an old interview with the renowned phycisist Robert Oppenheimer, who was responsible for creating mankind’s greatest destruction force- the atomic bomb.  In the clip Oppie likened himself to a Hindu deity Vishnu from the Baghavad Gita, who in trying to impress a prince, turned into some many armed monster and declared he had “become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds.”  How fitting the imagery was.

If you can somehow tell I’ve changed the face of the Hindu deity to a likeness of the Oppie, when he was older.  Kind of hard to say it looks like him, I’ve tried though.

If you’ve ever seen the real pic of Vishnu there are six Cobras squiggling from his back, and I’ve positioned them to look like the symbol of the radioactive hazard waste.  In case you didn’t notice. 😉
