We all want to be perfect. Perfect hair, perfect face, perfect body, perfect life…But alas that is not to be. No matter how hard we try, how much we spend, it is not enough to cover up all the imperfections in ourselves.
We are imperfect beings, born imperfect, and will die imperfect too. That is the truth. Perfection is a lie, a subliminal message set by the society to compel us to buy things that will help make us “perfect.” To tear up our old looks and reconstruct ourselves, from head to toe, to be the perfect being we ought to be. A cunning marketing ploy of course. And one that works, cause you see it everywhere, on TV, in magazines, on the streets…and people get drawn to it, made to believe they are ugly and inferior, and they have to change it to be accepted.
But I accept the truth. I accept who I am. I am imperfect, because I was made that way. It makes me who I am. An individual, an original, a real human being. I wouldn’t change it for the world because that would be dissing the One who created me, and slapping my parents who conceived and brought me to life as I am.
And yes that ugly picture really is Yours Truly.
